PLEXR TAG REMOVAL
SKIN TAG REMOVAL

Having skin tags does affect your appearance and self-confidence as they more commonly appear on the face and neck, but the good news is; they are super quick and easy to remove with no downtime!

Skin tags are extremely common and are just benign skin legions composed of normal skin tissue! They are not a sign of cancer, so they aren’t a source of medical concern and are generally very easy to remove. In saying this it is still very important to get any growth checked! Before any skin tag removal you must have the growth checked and cleared by a medical professional!

WHAT ARE SKIN TAGS?
Skin tags are extremely common and completely benign fleshy overgrowths of the skin. While not dangerous at all, they are often cosmetically bothersome especially if located in an obvious location like the face or neck.

WHAT ARE RED SKIN TAGS?
Many people have, or will get, skin tags at some point in their life. They’re usually skin-colored or brown, but sometimes they can become red as they have filled with blood hence they may also bleed. You can develop red skin tags that hurt, or you can easily mistake them for a cherry angioma.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RED SKIN TAGS AND CHERRY ANGIOMAS?
The difference is that a skin tag is a piece of skin attached to you by a stalk, and a cherry angioma lays flat against your skin, like a wart, or may be raised just a little.

HOW ARE SKIN TAGS SAFELY REMOVED?
Its a very easy process whereby we Cauterize the tag with a Plasma Pen.
Cauterization is the process of actually burning off a skin tag. Your therapist will remove the skin tag at its stalk with a carbon arc from a plasma pen to burn away the skin tag. The area will be numbed with a local anesthetic so that you won’t feel a thing. You may experience some mild discomfort after than anesthetic has worn off. This will fade away after a few hours.

WHAT IS THE SKIN TAG CAUTERIZATION HEALING TIME?
The area will feel tender when you’re done. Make sure that the area is kept clean and sterile. It will take a week or two for the skin tag removal area to heal. Obviously, this will depend on the size of the skin tag that’s been removed. A small scab will form that will gradually heal and fall off. You need to be careful not disturb the scab as this could lead to scarring so it is recommended to keep a small bandaid over the area.
